The Designer Outlet has partnered with The Hospice of The Good Shepherd, as part of their commitment to supporting local communities.
The Hospice of The Good Shepherd, located in Cheshire West, Chester, Ellesmere Port, and Deeside, is a specialist palliative and end-of-life care provider. They believe that everyone should have access to excellent end-of-life care and support, a vision that resonates with McArthurGlen’s values.
The charity’s specialist team of medical and nursing staff deliver end of life care to patients and support their families, carers and friends. The services offered by the Hospice are varied across several disciplines and reflect the diverse nature of their care and support.
During the past year the Hospice has provided almost 300 in-patient stays and had over 1,000 Day Therapy attendances. There were also over 800 medical consultations in Hospice Out-Patients. The Hospice offers social, psychological and spiritual support from our social workers and spiritual care team. Together with the support offered by their bereavement team, almost 1,000 families benefited from these services.
Kenny Murray, General Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks, commented on the new partnership:
“We are delighted to collaborate with The Hospice of The Good Shepherd and raise vital funds to support their work. Their dedication to providing quality care and support to patients and their families aligns perfectly with our own commitment to making a positive impact in our community.”
Throughout the year, Cheshire Oaks will collaborate with The Hospice of The Good Shepherd on various fundraising events, like the Foam Blast and Dog Walk coming up in a couple of weeks.
Additionally, lost property will be donated to the charity’s shops, and sponsorship events will be organised. Collection tins will also be placed throughout the Centre to raise funds and awareness for volunteer roles.
