Just a month on from Spring booster vaccines being launched, more than 125,000 have been delivered in Cheshire and Merseyside.
Those eligible for spring boosters include care home residents, people who are aged 75 and over and those who are immunosuppressed aged 12 and over.
In line with advice set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme has been inviting thousands of eligible people in Cheshire and Merseyside to come forward for their fourth dose - around six months after they had their booster jab.
The NHS continues to contact people about the booster, and those eligible can also book their appointment through the National Booking Service or by calling NHS 119 now.
GP led teams will continue delivering vaccinations as well as pharmacies and hospital hubs. Teams are also focusing their efforts on care homes, making sure the most vulnerable are protected first, with vaccine clinics already being held in care settings throughout the area.
So far around 5.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been delivered in Cheshire and Merseyside giving people the best possible protection from the virus.
Jayne Wood, Vaccine Director for Cheshire and Merseyside, said: “It is great to see that so many people have come forward for their Spring booster and I would like to thank the millions of people who have taken up the offer of a Covid-19 vaccine in Cheshire and Merseyside.
“Covid-19 is still circulating, so I would like to encourage everyone eligible to come forward and make sure your protection is topped up.
“It remains so important that those who are most vulnerable take up their vaccination offer once they become eligible to have the best protection against the virus. It is also never too late to come forward for your first, second or booster dose.
“You can also proactively book your appointment online through the booking system, or by calling 119”
