Some households will see a change to their usual collection date over the festive period, so you’ll need to check when you need to put your bins out.
The easiest way to do this is by checking online here but continue reading as there is some other important changes to note.
Crews will be working longer hours over the festive period to ensure everyone’s waste is collected, so your collection time may be late than usual. On December 27, 28, 29 and 30, crews will be collecting until 5.30pm. On January 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, they will be collecting until 5.15pm. Please do not contact us to report a missed collection until after these times.
There will also be extra vehicles assisting on each round so there may be occasions where residents think only one steam of recycling has been collected and the rest has been left, however, a second vehicle will be along later to collect the rest.
Further information:
· Collections usually due on Monday, 25 December, will now take place on Wednesday, 27 December for black bin and food waste.
· Collections usually due on Tuesday, 26 December, will now take place on Thursday, 28 December for black bin and food waste.
· If you are not due a black bin collection on Monday 25/Tuesday 26, food will be collected on the Wednesday/Thursday and recycling will be collected the following week along with your black bin.
· All collections on week commencing January 1 will be pushed back by a day, for example collections usually due on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday.
· Normal collection days will resume on Monday, 8 January.
All household waste recycling centres will be open throughout the festive period except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
