Chester FC Women return to league action this weekend, following a week’s break, as they welcome Runcorn Linnets to the Leap76 Stadium looking to return to winning ways.
The Blues eleven game winning run in the league stretching back to September, came to an abrupt end last time out as they suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Poulton Vics.
The defeat saw Poulton complete a league double over Chester and hand them their third straight defeat in all competitions. Following the loss the Seats slipped to third in the table one point behind Poulton in second having played a game less.
Sunday’s visitors come into this weekend’s clash in fantastic form, having won their last five games in row in all competitions. The Linnets currently find themselves in 5th in the table, three points behind Chester having played two games more.
The two sides have already previously met twice so far to date this season, Chester recording a 4-2 away win on the road back in November. With the most recent meeting just three weeks ago, Runcorn coming out on top in the Cheshire County Cup with a 2-1 win.
