Catholic High School Chester Celebrates Outstanding A-Level Results

Catholic High School Chester is celebrating another successful A-Level Results Day as 73 Sixth Form students received their results today, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.

The students have been widely praised by their teachers for their exceptional hard work and determination, with many achieving remarkable success.

Staff members were present to congratulate the students and offer guidance as they make crucial decisions about their next steps, whether it be higher education, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce. The school is proud to see so many students progressing to prestigious universities, including Russell Group institutions, furthering the school’s strong academic tradition.

This year's top performers include:

• Bradley Beach – AAA, University of Manchester, Chemical Engineering
• Daniel Crawford – AAA*, University of Manchester, Economics and Finance
• Andrew Cook – A*AA, University of Birmingham, Physics and Astrophysics
• Karol Ghibaudo – AAB, Imperial College London, Physics with Theoretical Physics
• Emma Hawkes – AAB, University of Bath, Chemistry
• Matthew Joinson – AAA, University of Manchester, Biochemistry
• Arnav Sharma, Eliza Neal, and Oisin Rushton – All achieved AAA and aspire to study Medicine
• Rachel Mann – A*, Distinction*, Distinction, taking a Gap Year

In addition to the traditional A-Level courses, the school’s newer Level 3 alternative courses have also seen outstanding results. Over half of the cohort achieved Distinction level or higher in BTEC Sport, BTEC Business, and Advanced Diploma in Criminology.

The majority of students who applied to universities were accepted into their first-choice institutions, with a significant percentage gaining places at Russell Group universities, further underlining the academic excellence at Catholic High School Chester.

“I couldn’t be prouder of this cohort, who have shown incredible resilience and a clear understanding of the challenges that A-Levels present. Their success is a testament to their hard work and the dedicated support from our staff. We are also deeply grateful to Father Paul from St Werburgh’s parish for his invaluable support with our Medics and Oxbridge candidates.”

These successful students will now join the school’s highly regarded Alumni group, which boasts over 1,500 members spanning 50 years of the school’s history.
