Cash boost on offer for kids’ summer activities

Cheshire’s communities can bid for up to £2,000 to provide summer holiday activities for young people across the county as Dan Price, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner launches his SWAP Summer Support Fund.

The fund will combat boredom and get young people off their phones by giving community groups, charities, social enterprise and not-for-profit groups the support to deliver activities to promote their well-being.

Dan Price, Police and Crime Commissioner said:

“Providing activities for young people over the summer holiday can have a huge impact not only on communities, but on families that can feel the pressure during the school holiday period.

“A cash injection can help people get projects off the ground, keeping kids busy, safe and make a difference in their communities.

Nicola Mikoleizik, Manager of Frodsham Youth Club said:

“We’ve used SWAP funding for our Duke of Edinburgh award, we use it to feed kids, it’s helped us with staffing, it has helped us with equipment.”

Projects will need to be delivered between July – September 2025 and should fulfil one of the following priorities:

  • Support children and young people
  • Promote physical and mental well-being
  • Reduce isolation and promote inclusion

The application window is now open and closes on Friday 20th June 2025 at 5pm.
