Chester Football Club have announced that Manager Calum McIntyre has agreed terms on a contract extension, keeping him at the Deva Stadium until May 2026.
The 29-year-old has had a hugely successful and progressive first year in permanent charge of the Blues, taking the Club from a 16th place finish in 2022 to a 3rd place finish this time around.
McIntyre was named Vanarama National League North Manager of the Season in his first season in the role and guided his side to a 21-game undefeated streak on the road, as well as claiming the best defensive record in the division.
The Blues reached the National League North Play-Off Semi Finals – and Calum and his staff will be hoping for another season of progress in 2023/24.
On the news, CFU Chair Kieron Shiel had this to say:
“Appointing Calum in the first place was a thorough yet easy decision – and extending his contract was an even easier one.
“This will allow Calum and the football club to further build on the solid foundation and winning culture that he has created. I’m proud of what he, the team, the staff and the board have achieved so far and long may that continue.
“Calum clearly loves this club, that’s there for all to see, but I’ve no doubt the response we have had from supporters with Season Ticket sales and Boost the Budget will have contributed to the outcome of today’s news.
“We all have our part to play for this club, we must never forget that.”
