A new alumni group has been launched to mark the 50 years of Catholic High School Chester.
Nearly 100 people have already joined the Catholic High School Chester Alumni Facebook group which was set up to connect with old classmates this week.
To celebrate 50 years of teaching and education, the school is encouraging former students and staff to submit pictures and share their memories from their school days on:
Cathy McKeagney, headteacher at the Handbridge-based school said: “Our students are our biggest asset here at the Catholic High School and so many have gone on to achieve amazing things in all walks of life. To celebrate our 50th year we wanted to bring all of the students and staff from throughout the years and reconnect them with our alumni group.”
The first event to gather the alumni group will take place on Thursday, January 5th from 6.30-8.30 pm at the school on Old Wrexham Road. The Cheese and Wine night is free and available to book here.
There will be a number of other informal and formal events throughout the academic year and a special anniversary book with stories and pictures from the alumni groups which will be on sale later in 2023.
“I’m sure people have so many nostalgic memories of their time here at Catholic High School and we want to see them all - if you left in 2022 or 1972!” Said Mrs McKeagney. “Seeing the school's evolution through the ages - as well as the hair, the styles, the uniform, the classrooms; it really will be a wonderful trip down memory lane and I’m sure will be a source of great pride for us all!”
To inspire current students, the team at Catholic High School Chester will also be inviting former students to take part in a series of interviews, podcasts and short films for the schools’ popular social media channels and website which you can keep track of here.
