With AQUA FEST only a few weeks away, the Bunbury Village Day team are busy putting the final details in place for this much anticipated event which will take place on Saturday 8th June.
This year’s theme is inspired by the 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the amazing volunteer run charity that save lives at sea, and we are delighted that RNLI groups from across Cheshire will be joining us.
Keeping with the water theme, we are also proud to be joined by our very own Bunbury Water Mill which has an 830-year history and is today run by a team of volunteers as a charitable trust.
The day begins at 12.30pm with a spectacular parade featuring the City of Chester Bluecoat Band, the Earl of Stamford Morris Dancers, Rose Queens, Kings and attendants, an array of vehicles from super cars to scooters to tractors not to mention a host of water themed characters including pirates, sailors and deep-sea divers!
Now in our 55th year the day will include both traditional and new features including, arena displays and games, a family of Alpacas, a well-stocked bar, a mouth-watering BBQ, a myriad of stalls, the classic WI café, thrilling fairground rides and a 10-metre climbing wall!
We will bring the day to a fabulous finale with some great local bands including Green Bullet who play a high energy mix of covers with influences ranging from punk through to blues and rock, as well as Bunbury’s very own The Lost Boys playing a range of Rock and Britpop, which we are sure will tempt everyone to have a bop.
