Get ready for a fun-filled spring with free Easter activity clubs across Cheshire.
As the Easter holidays approach, so does the excitement for the return of the Easter Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) 2026.
Funded by the Department for Education, Edsential are working alongside Cheshire West and Chester Council to bring a wide range of engaging activity clubs for eligible children across the borough - designed to keep children and young people active, inspired, and entertained throughout the Easter break.
With a network of clubs available in every area, the HAF programme will once again provide unforgettable experiences for young people aged 5 to 16 years old who receive benefit-related free school meals. This Easter sees the return of many popular providers as well as several exciting new clubs joining the programme, bringing even more spring‑themed activities to families.
From outdoor adventures, multi‑sports, and Easter egg hunts to arts and crafts, baking, cooking workshops, nature and bushcraft sessions, and even springtime trips - the programme offers something to suit every child’s interests. Older children can enjoy additional opportunities, such as wellbeing sessions, creative workshops, and vocational activities. And the best part? Every session includes a free, nutritious meal, ensuring children stay fuelled and ready for fun throughout the break.
Last year’s seasonal HAF programmes saw thousands of children and young people in Cheshire West and Chester taking part in enriching activities and enjoying healthy meals. Parents praised the welcoming staff, the high-quality activities, and the fantastic support the programme provides during school holidays. Easter 2026 is set to be even more special.
Heather Lewis, Programme Manager for HAF, shared her enthusiasm:
“We’re so excited to bring another fantastic programme of Easter activities to children and young people across Cheshire West. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children can try new experiences, learn new skills, and build lasting friendships. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact the programme continues to have on families.”
Councillor Adam Langan, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families said:
“There are an impressive variety of events being offered during this year’s Easter holidays. Those taking part are sure to have a brilliant experience. The HAF programme continues to make a significant difference for families, and I would encourage those eligible to sign up as soon as possible.”
Edsential encourages all parents and carers to check whether their child is eligible for free school meals, as this may unlock access to a wide variety of Easter activities, as well as healthy and delicious free lunches during the school term.
If eligible, book your child’s place at one of the Easter Holiday Activity clubs:
