Chester Football Club can announce we will host Sheffield Wednesday at the Deva Stadium for a pre-season friendly on Saturday 10th July.
Darren Moore’s Owls will provide the opposition in what will be the first of four home pre-season fixtures for Bern and Jonno’s men with the game kicking off at 3pm.
Tickets for this match and the friendly with Bury AFC on Saturday 17th July are on sale now at chesterfc.ktckts.com for home fans only.
Please note away supporters will not be permitted to attend. While disappointed we are unable to welcome visiting fans, this decision has been taken in agreement with the Safety Advisory Group following the delay in moving to step four of the Government’s roadmap and Cheshire West’s designation as an ‘enhanced support area’ due to an increase in Covid-19 cases.
Both matches will be streamed live on www.chesterfc.com/streaming to ensure fans of our opponents can watch the action. A match pass for a game will cost just £6.99 and will go on sale next week.
Attendance for these fixtures will be capped in line with our socially distanced capacity with tickets available in groups of up to six or two households. We ask supporters continue to follow the Spectators’ Code of Conduct (CLICK HERE) for your own safety and the safety of others.
In addition, the club recommends everyone attending the match takes a lateral flow or PCR test prior to the game and face coverings must be worn when entering, exiting and moving around the stadium.
Jeff Banks, director of fan engagement, said: “This is the first chance to come and see the Blues since last December and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back to the Deva after what has been a truly unprecedented last 12 months.
“Having Sheffield Wednesday as our first opponents is fantastic and we would encourage everyone to get their tickets as early as possible given the capacity restrictions.
“As the game is taking place under social distancing guidelines, we would also ask that supporters buy multiple tickets for family members or friends to ensure that we can seat as many people together as possible.”
