Chester FC has announced that a Manchester United XI will be visiting the Deva Stadium, for a pre-season friendly, on Monday 7th August.
The game is scheduled for a 7.45pm kick off, as the Blues have the pleasure of welcoming one of the most iconic clubs in world football to CH1.
Admission prices will be confirmed in due course, with supporters able to purchase online at:
Hospitality details will also be confirmed in the near future.
Man United’s last visit to Chester was in August 2002, when a reserve side ran out 3-1 winners, with Paul Scholes playing over an hour for the Red Devils.
Manager Calum McIntyre said:
“We are delighted to be hosting a Manchester United XI at the Deva Stadium in August.
“As much as the timing of the fixture falls shortly after the start of the season, it’s important that we added an extra fixture to our schedule ahead of a testing campaign.
“We want to ensure we start our opening twelve games better than we did last season and we want to ensure that we have maximised every opportunity to get every player ready for the season ahead.
“These types of games are common during the season, often behind closed doors but we are delighted to be able to welcome supporters to the Deva Stadium for this game.
“I would like to thank our friends at Manchester United for visiting us as part of their pre-season schedule and we are very proud to host them.
“A strong relationship has been built between the two clubs at Academy level for a number of years now and this type of fixture further cements that.”
