BLUES MATCH REPORT: KING’S LYNN TOWN 0 - 0 CHESTER FC

Chester FC battled to a point on the road in Norfolk, to round off a productive week in the National League North.

Manager Calum McIntyre made just one change from the midweek win over Chorley.

Kevin Roberts was missing from the squad after picking up a knock in the 2-0 victory, with Jid Okeke replacing him in the Starting XI.

It was a cagey opening 15 at the Walks, but the opener almost arrived at the end of that scrappy spell, as a dangerous cross from Declan Weeks from the left was just shy of the foot of Charlie Caton.

The half stayed quiet with the hosts failing to muster a single attack, as the Seals dominated possession for the remainder of the 45.

A couple of nearly moments came and went, as Tom Peers fired a difficult chance wide as a corner was hooked back in by Harrison Burke, before George Glendon saw his shot deflect and loop inches over the crossbar.

After mustering no attacks in the first half, the hosts really should have took the lead on 54 minutes.

A long and hopeful free kick into the area from the left found its way to the unmarked Greg Taylor at the back post, but Wyll Stanway was out quickly to make an important save and preserve his 18th clean sheet of the campaign.

Chester started to turn up the pressure towards the end, and almost won it as Caton was denied by a superb low reaction stop from Paul Jones – before the ‘keeper then moments later denied Caton again and then Whitehouse in an excellent double stop on 82 minutes as it ended all square.
