Chester FC were forced to settle for a point after late heartbreak at Edgar Street.
Tom Peers netted late in the first-half with a clever header before Jaiden White equalised after he capitalised on a corner.
Connor Woods grabbed his first Seals goal four minutes later but a close-range finish courtesy of Jason Cowley earned a point for the hosts in the 93rd minute.
Peers had the first major chance of the contest after a lofted ball from Nathan Woodthorpe left the number seven in space.
His volleyed effort bounced towards goal and beat Theo Richardson in the home net but Kieran Coates cleared off the line.
The atmosphere was electric at Edgar Street but the game lacked goalmouth action, as both sides toiled in the centre of the pitch.
Connor Woods also had a sight of goal for the Blues but he slipped as he attempted to shoot and the ball was cleared.
The Bulls saw plenty of the ball but failed to test Jimmy Storer throughout the first period.
Peers netted his 18th league goal of the season with just a couple of minutes of the half remaining with a clever headed effort.
Woodthorpe floated a cross to the back post which Peers met with power to earn a crucial lead at the break.
Paul Caddis’ side came out of the blocks with urgency and equalised in the 49th minute through Jaiden White, who drilled a low strike past Storer after the Blues’ back line had failed to clear a corner.
Hereford continued to push and put pressure on the Chester box and had a penalty claim waved away when Remaye Campbell went down in the box.
Parity didn’t last long for the Bulls though, as Connor Woods grabbed his first goal in a Chester shirt.
Declan Weeks found space inside the box before he drilled a cross to the far post which gave Woods a simple finish.
An ideal response from Calum McIntyre’s men and a fantastic moment for our number 17.
Peers almost made it three just moments later but his powerful shot rose narrowly over the bar, before Willoughby went close with an audacious volley that was also just too high.
The hosts pushed forward towards their fans late on and forced an error from Storer that allowed late substitute Jason Cowley to nip in and finish from close-range to equalise with just a few minutes left on the clock.
The result consolidates the Blues’ position in fourth, with a home test against Darlington up next.
