Chester FC make the trip to Aggborough, the home of Kidderminster Harriers, on Tuesday night, with the Seals looking to extend their unbeaten run to five.
Calum McIntyre’s men are coming off the back of a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Peterborough Sports on the weekend, with goals courtesy of Tom Peers, Harrison Burke and Charlie Caton.
The latter is in a rich vein of form, as he has netted five goals in his last four outings, making him the top goalscorer in the entirety of the National League North.
THE OPPOSITION
Following their relegation from the National League last campaign, Kidderminster have recovered well to start strongly in the level below.
Three consecutive wins to commence the season restored positivity around the club after the disappointment of demotion, but they’ve been handed a harsh reality check since with two defeats in their last three games.
Tuesday’s opposition got promoted from the National League North in the 2022/23 season after winning the play-off final against Brackley Town.
THE GAFFER
Phil Brown’s managerial pedigree speaks for itself as he is the only manager in the division to have managed in the Premier League.
His spell in the top flight was with Hull City, as he lead the Tigers to promotion by beating Bristol City at Wembley in the 2007/08 Championship play-off final. It would be the first time Hull would compete at the top level of English football in their entire 104-year history.
Against all the odds, Hull City survived in their maiden Premier League season. Brown’s work wasn’t going unnoticed, as he was the recipient of the Manger of the Month award for September.
As a player, Brown played well over 600 games, turning out for the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Hartlepool United and Blackpool at full-back.
The 65-year-old joined the Carpetmen at the start of the calendar year, and despite an upturn in form, he couldn’t quite save the club from relegation.
ONE TO WATCH
Maliq Cadogan is an exciting young prospect on the flanks and the 20-year-old is currently on a season long loan with the Harriers from Championship outfit Swansea City.
The versatile winger is a creative outlet and he particularly impressed in his new side’s 4-0 dismantling of Oxford City on Bank Holiday Monday ,which earned him recognition with an inclusion in the Vanarama National North Team of the Week.
Kiddy have several goal threats with Ben Beresford, Ashley Hemmings and Maziar Kouhyar all already recording two or more goals in the league.
