Chester FC’s first game of 2024, at the Leap76 Stadium, brings Rushall Olympic to CH1.
For Calum McIntyre’s side, it is all about bouncing back after a disappointing New Year at Warrington Town. The Blues went down 1-0 to the Wire, ending an eight match unbeaten run in the process.
This weekend’s game kicks off a run of four successive home league matches for the Seals and a chance to make some inroads inside the top seven.
THE OPPOSITION:
Rushall Olympic sit just one place outside the bottom four after promotion last season. Their festive double header brought a near identical pattern in both games against Tamworth.
On Boxing Day, they led inside five minutes before losing 2-1 at the Lamb Ground, before their home game on New Year’s Day against the same opposition saw Olympic once again score inside five minutes and go on to lose the game 2-1.
When these two sides met back in November at Dales Lane, it was a tale of two penalties and George Glendon and Alex Fletcher converted their respective spot kicks as the two sides drew 1-1.
