46 games of the regular season down, now the Blues do battle in the Play-Offs knowing two wins would take them back to the National League after a five-year exile.
Brackley Town are the visitors this weekend for this Semi Final bout at the Deva. They advanced to the last four in dramatic fashion, a penalty shootout victory in midweek.
The Saints scored twice in the second half to turn around Gloucester City’s lead, but were then pegged back in the 11th minute of stoppage time as the game went deep on Wednesday. Nevertheless, Interim Manager Gaz Dean saw his side hold their nerve and progress.
Chester meanwhile secured third on 15th April and have built for the Play-Offs in encouraging fashion – beating both Kettering Town and Buxton without conceding a goal.
The winner of this tie will either visit King’s Lynn Town or host Kidderminster Harriers next Sunday (14th May) in the Promotion Final.
Kick off this Sunday afternoon is 3.30pm.
