A fourth successive game on the road comes this midweek, as the Blues head to Alfreton Town.
Saturday’s penalty shootout defeat at Nantwich Town saw Chester exit the Isuzu FA Trophy at the first hurdle, and they finished the game with ten men due to more bad luck with injury, as Adam Thomas suffered a broken wrist and will now be out for eight weeks.
The Blues will definitely be without Kevin Roberts on Tuesday, who is serving a one-match ban after accumulating five yellow cards. Tom Peers serves the first of his three-game ban, however he is expected to be out now until the New Year due to a broken foot.
THE OPPOSITION:
Alfreton have had a strong campaign once again this season, and sit in sixth place in the table going into this round of midweek fixtures. Top scorer Jordan Thewlis is on seven for the campaign in NLN, scoring in their last victory, a thumping 4-0 success at Bishop’s Stortford.
Like the Blues, Tuesday’s opponents were beaten in the FA Trophy over the weekend. Leading 2-1 at home to Macclesfield, Billy Heath’s side were eventually beaten 4-2 by the Silkmen.
