Cheshire West and Chester Council is banishing the winter blues for visitors to Chester by offering free travel on the city’s Park & Ride service throughout January 2024.
The offer has been made possible by funding from the Department of Transport under its Bus Service Improvement Plan + grant.
The Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Strategic Councillor Karen Shore said:
“When coming into Chester in the new year, please give the Park & Ride a try. Start the New Year by doing your bit to cut congestion and pollution in the city - the Park and ride is a great way to help the climate emergency, plus free and reduced travel is the ideal opportunity to do your bit and save money.
“Travelling on the Park & Ride is so easy and now free. Just drive and park at one of our sites, there are plenty of spaces available, hop on board a bus and take your free ticket from the driver. Then relax on your way into the City. Buses run at regular intervals until 7pm (5.30pm Sundays).
“Our stylish and comfortable Park & Ride buses have USB charging, free wifi and premium seating.”
