Police officers are appealing for information from the public after a pedestrian died following a collision on the M56 near Hapsford.
At around 5.30am on Monday 18 May police were called to reports of a collision between junctions 12 and 14 of the M56.
On arrival it was found that a HGV tanker, travelling in the direction of Runcorn, had been involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 50-year-old man from Ellesmere Port, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the HGV was uninjured and liaised with officers at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid their investigation.
