
Police are appealing for information witnesses following an assault on a man in his seventies in Neston.
Sometime between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday 13th July, a 71-year-old man was walk home through the Flint Meadow area, just off of Flint Close, Neston.
Whilst here, the victim stopped to tie his shoe and was approached by two small dogs.
Shortly after this the victim approached by an unknown man believed to be the dog’s owner. Following a brief altercation involving the animals, the unknown man assaulted the victim, resulting in him sustaining a broken toe and a sprained finger.
The man who attacked the victim is described as white, aged between 40 and 50-years-old, of stocky build and around 5’7” tall.
He was wearing a brown shirt and jeans and was accompanied by a small brown dog and a small white dog.
As part of their enquiries into the incident, officers are appealing to anyone who has any information, witnessed the incident or has any CCTV footage that may prove useful, to get in touch.
Police Constable Molly Sharkey, of Ellesmere Port Area Investigation Team, said:
“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen the individual we are looking to speak to in their local area.
“As well as this, we are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or doorbell footage which might aid our investigation, particularly from Flint Meadow, Flint Close areas, or surrounding streets.”
