Police are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault in Helsby.
Sometime between 11.15pm and 11.35pm a woman was walking toward Elton from Frodsham when she felt someone was following her.
She was grabbed, pulled to the ground and assaulted. The victim managed to fight him off and flee on foot to a nearby address.
The suspect is described as white, in his 40s, tall and thin with a bald spot on his head. He was wearing all black clothing.
DC Kelly Birch said: “The victim was shaken up by her ordeal and is being supported by specialist officers. Police have also stepped-up patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
“I’d urge anyone who may have witnessed the victim or suspect walking along Chester Road to contact police with any information that may help. We’re also appealing to anyone with dashcam footage who was in the area on 12 February between 10.45pm and 11.45pm to make contact with us.”
