Police investigating an attempted murder in Ellesmere Port are appealing for witnesses.
At 5.17pm on Thursday 14 July a patrol car was flagged down by passers-by on Westminster Road in Ellesmere Port to alert the officers that a man had been seriously assaulted.
They located an 18-year-old man with serious injuries in Worcester Walk.
Enquiries established that the suspects had driven up to the victim in a small grey SUV-type vehicle and assaulted him with weapons.
The suspects then left the scene in the vehicle.
The victim, from Wirral, was airlifted to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening and he is in a stable condition.
DI Eli Atkinson said: “Understandably this has caused a lot of concern in the community, and we have been working tirelessly to establish the circumstances and find those responsible. We have also stepped-up patrols in the area to provide reassurance.
“There were a lot of people in the area at the time of the incident, so I’d urge anyone who witnessed this but has not yet spoken to police to contact us. The same goes for anyone with mobile phone footage or dash cam footage that may help us.”
