Officers are appealing for information following reports of an assault at a public house in Chester.
At 8pm on Sunday 22 August, a 43-year-old man was in a pub on Dicksons Drive, Upton when he was struck on the head by another man.
The victim fell to the floor and sustained head injuries as a result of the assault.
The man is described as being around 6' tall, of a stocky build, with short red coloured hair and a short beard/stubble.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt, dark coloured shorts and white trainers.
Police Constable Steve Harrison said: "This is a concerning assault and I'd like reassure the public that a number of enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing.
"I am keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and witnessed the assault.
"I would also like to appeal to anyone who may have information, no matter how big or small, that could assist the investigation to get in touch."
