Police are appealing for information from the public, after a cyclist presented themselves at the Countess of Chester Hospital with serious head injuries.
The 64-year-old local woman arrived at the hospital at around 5am on Thursday 23 February and is currently in a serious but stable condition.
An investigation into how the woman sustained the injuries has been launched and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information or video footage.
Detective Sergeant James Elliot said:
“Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing, and we are doing all we can to piece together the woman’s movements and establish exactly how she sustained the injuries.
“We know that the woman travelled along Ermine Road, across Brook Lane, down into Dicksons Drive and onto Stanton Drive.
“From here, we believe that the woman will have travelled along Egerton Drive and Mill Lane, she then turned into Upton Drive. She will have then turned left into Bache Avenue, before crossing Liverpool Road and arriving at the hospital.
“Therefore, as part of our investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who believes that they may have seen the woman as she was cycling to the hospital.
“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage of the woman.”
“We’re also aware that a number of residents now have ring doorbells, so please, if you have one and live on the route taken by the woman, review it to see if anything has been captured.
“The woman was riding a distinctive looking pink ‘TREK’ bike and we hope the image of this bike will assist with reviewing any footage.”
Anyone with any information which may aid the investigation is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or at:
