Officers are appealing for information following a robbery in Chester.
At around 7.30am on Wednesday 3 August, a 60-year-old woman was walking to work when a man approached her in Caldey Valley Nature Park, Great Broughton.
The man punched the victim to the face and proceeded to take the contents of her handbag before fleeing the scene.
A quantity of cash was stolen from the handbag.
Police are now asking for members of the public to come forward with information.
Detective Constable Natalie Willis said: “This terrifying ordeal has left the victim understandably shaken and we are committed to doing all we can to identify the man responsible.
“I understand that this incident will be a cause for concern to those in the local community, but I want to reassure you that we are doing all we can to find who is responsible.
“Patrols have been stepped up over recent days and enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the suspect.
“As part of our ongoing investigation, we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes they may have seen something suspicious.
“We are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage in the area around the time of the assault to get in touch with us.”
