The Annual Service of Remembrance at Chester Cathedral will take place on Sunday 13 November.
A Military Parade will step off from Bridge Street at 9.30am and march to the Cathedral. The Service of Remembrance will take place inside Chester Cathedral at 10.15am followed by the Act of Remembrance outside at 10.55am.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the service and tickets for the inside service can be booked via Chester Cathedral’s online booking service. Viewing for the Act of Remembrance will be from St Werburgh Street’s footpaths and the surrounding area.
Remembrance Sunday remains as important as ever, services had to be adapted due to the Pandemic and this years’ service has returned inside the Cathedral.
Members of the public are very welcome to attend, to pay their respects to service men and women, past and present.
Armistice Day will also be commemorating on Friday 11 November at 10.50am at Chester Cathedral War Memorial. The short service takes place at the Cathedral War Memorial led by a representative from the Cathedral. This will be followed by the playing of the last post and a two-minute silence.
Remembrance Sunday is the opportunity for all faiths, non-faiths, cultures and backgrounds to come together to remember the services and sacrifices of Armed Forces communities who served to safeguard democratic freedoms and our way of life.
There are many Remembrance Services taking place across the borough.
