Adoption Matters, children’s charity and one of the largest voluntary adoption agencies in the UK, welcomed children and families to their Charity Garden Party on Sunday 16th July in Chester.
Families enjoyed their picnics in the grounds and woodland of the beautiful Ashton Grange in Ashton Hayes, near Chester. The afternoon of fun included an animal workshop from Zoo2U, where the children got up close and personal with a skunk, a royal python and a kookaburra to name a few.
Children and young people then took part in Forest School sessions from Budding Minds, a chance for children and young people to develop confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in the natural setting of the inspiring woodlands.
Visitors also were invited to explore the meadows, woods, and gardens in the beautiful grounds of Ashton Grange, the venue so kindly offered by owners Kate & Martin Slack who support the charity.
Adoption Matters Chief Executive, Susy White commented:
“It was a wonderful day and now our third event at the beautiful Ashton Grange. It was so lovely to see the children and their families enjoying workshops, and discovering new experiences. Thank you to our kind hosts Kate and Martin Slack and to our sponsors Brownlow Furniture, who both helped to make this event happen”.
Funds are still being counted with just under £600 raised so far.
