Cheshire East Council will be undertaking essential improvement works on the A51 Nantwich Road at Wardle, to improve the condition of the road.
The works, which will begin later this month, will stabilise 750 metres of road through carriageway reconstruction, drainage system and safety barrier replacement.
Unfortunately, it will be necessary to close the road completely for the safety of the public and workforce for the duration of the works. We apologise for the disruption this will cause.
We are working with the local community to minimise this disruption as much as possible and signage will be placed out in advance of the works commencing..
During the 16-week closure, this section of road will also be resurfaced with new kerbs and gullies installed. The work will start on 31 August 2021.
We thank our residents and road users in advance for their patience and ask them to allow extra time for their journeys and follow the planned diversion routes.
Highways personnel will be stationed on site to facilitate access to businesses during normal working hours. The emergency services are aware of the planned closure and the diversion arrangements that will be put in place for emergency vehicles.
