Heidi Barker, from Ellesmere Port, is bringing smiles and making a difference this Christmas by launching her very own second joke book with all proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Research UK to fund dementia research.
The idea for the joke book was inspired by Heidi’s Great Uncle Ian who was diagnosed with dementia in 2020. Over the years, Heidi has taken on a variety of fundraising challenges for the charity, including walking the distance of the length of England and Scotland, and cycling the distance from Paris to London, raising nearly £30,000 to date. Now with her latest idea, she’s combined her love of jokes, facts and funny town names with a passion for helping others.
The book, titled “Officially Declared Fun Two: Heidi’s Second Book of Fun”, is the perfect stocking filler or secret santa gift for children and adults and is packed with jokes, riddles and fantastic facts. Heidi didn’t do it alone – she’s also had help from some famous faces too! Celebrities like Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Lady Philippa Perry and Dogs Behaving Very Badly’s Graeme Hall have all contributed their own bits of humour.
The book is available now on Amazon – just in time for Christmas if you’re looking for a gift.
The first book – “Heidi’s Book of Fun” is still available too.
