Ask Away

This event is run by Live! Cheshire: a vibrant charity based in Chester, empowering individuals with a range of disabilities to live truly fulfilling lives. We're especially proud to have 'Our Chatter Matters': a self-advocacy initiative focused on creating meaningful change for people with learning needs and disabilities, to ensure that they have their voices heard.

This event, run by Our Chatter Matters, brings together advocates and community organisations from across the region. Ask Away is a relaxed, Question Time–style evening where attendees can ask questions directly to local councillors about the issues that matter most to them (attached). The event is designed to be accessible, welcoming, and impactful. We are excited to welcome a range of councillors from the local area, including Green, Labour, Conservative, Liberal Democrats and Reform UK parties, as well as featuring an informative, inclusive presentation about the voting process.

With disability issues receiving increasing public and political attention, it feels more important than ever that disabled people have the opportunity to ask questions, share real lived experiences, and help shape the conversations that directly affect their lives.

Rather than scoring political points, our aim is to unite people with lived experience, decision-makers and organisations to have meaningful conversations, challenge assumptions, and explore practical ways forward.
