LOCAL HERO AWARDS 2019

Thank you for taking the time to nominate in this years Dee 106.3 Local Hero Awards, We are looking to find outstanding individuals and businesses that merit one of eleven awards that will be presented at our prestigious Gala Ceremony on  July 18th 2019.

Local Hero Award Categories

CARER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Is to recognise somebody who’s gone above or beyond in caring for an individual either as part of their employment or for a family member, a friend or a neighbour.

THE CHILD OF COURAGE AWARD:

Is to recognise an outstanding act of bravery by somebody under the age of 16 or for somebody who’s overcome personal obstacles.

THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Is to recognise anyone who’s gone above and beyond caring for an individual or faced adversity in any way. 

THE LOCAL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Is to recognise any business that’s made a significant impact in the community or which has exceeded expectations.

THE YOUNG ACHIEVER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Is to recognise someone under the age of 25 who has overcome difficulties to achieve or contribute to their community whilst displaying outstanding personal qualities and making a significant difference to the lives of others or themselves.

THE OUTSTANDING SPORTS PERSONALITY AWARD:

Is to recognise an outstanding sporting achievement either as part of a local team or on a personal level.

THE ACT OF COURAGE AWARD:

Is for somebody aged over 16, and is to recognise an outstanding act of bravery towards others or for somebody who’s overcome personal obstacles.

THE ECO AWARD OF THE YEAR:

 Is to recognise any person or company who’s made major inroads to improving our environment ecologically.

THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Is to recognise anybody who’s gone above or beyond their normal duties as a teacher or an individual who’s acted as a mentor in some way.

THE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD: 

Is to recognise someone who has excelled over and above normal expectations or who has worked selflessly within their own community to raise funds for charitable causes.

PUPIL OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Sponsored by Kings School Chester

This category recognises girls and boys between 7 and 18 years old who have demonstrated a love of learning and openness to new challenges, and who have made the most of opportunities in their school.
