Simon Davies
Sunday afternoon 2pm – 7pm
I was born in Chester and went to school at St David’s in Saltney. When my voice broke I immediately got a microphone from Tandy’s (the one that used to be in the old Kwik Save on Sealand Road) and set about getting started as a male voice over artist. My first commercials were for the Odeon and Virgin. I got a job on the radio when I left sixth form and then worked on the radio and tele for about 15 years in Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester before I set a marketing business up in Chester.
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed doing a radio show until I was asked by Dee if I fancied doing a show in my home town.
I’ve settled in to a nice slot, where I can’t do too much damage (Sunday afternoons) , and I was over the moon to be asked to host the Hoole Christmas Lights Switch On in December 2009.
Simon switching the lights on in Hoole, Chester.
