Chester in FA Trophy draw

The blues go into Monday’s draw for the first round proper of the FA Trophy, thanks to a 2-0 win over Stourbridge FC on Saturday in the third qualifying round. Iain Howard opened the scoring in the 67th minute with Matty McNeill consolidating the goal 12 minutes later. It’s a crushing defeat for Stourbridge who, just days earlier, caused a shock in the first round of the FA Cup after beating League Two’s Plymouth Argyle. Chester’s first round FA Trophy match will be played on Saturday 10th December and will replace the planned home game against Mickleover Sports.

The Blues are back in action this Tuesday away at Kendal Town. Kick off is at 7.45. Full coverage in Dee 106.3 Sport with Dave and Shane from 7pm.
