Dee 106.3

Dave Phillips

Join Dave every Sunday morning and he’ll have your little grey cells working overtime with the Dee Mystifier. Dave will give you one of those very frustrating lateral-thinking questions and, if you’re struggling to work out the answer, he’ll give you some clues later. Here’s a sneak preview of next week’s question:

Dee Mystifier

The world’s most expensive car ever made is up for sale. Although many people want to own it, and can afford to buy it, nobody will do so. Why?

All will be revealed on Sunday and remember, there’s always a logical answer!

If you were wondering about last week’s question:
Every time a man performed in public, it was a complete flop. Yet, he became famous and won medals and prizes. People came from all over and paid to see him perform. Who was he?

His name was Dick Fosbury, inventor of the famous Fosbury flop, a new high-jumping technique that involved going over the bar backwards. It revolutionised the sport and he went on to win a Gold Medal in the Mexico Olympics in 1968.

Sunday Shuffle Quiz

During 2010, we’ve been taking the Sunday Shuffle Quiz out on the road again. For eight weeks, Gavin, Julie and the Dee Team have been visiting different pubs in the Chester area. All the pubs achieved good scores in the quiz, but The Waggon and Horses, in Blacon, and the Hooton Hotel, on the Wirral, each scored the maximum 12 points.  Unfortunately, The Hooton Hotel were unable to attend the final, so The Waggon and Horses have been declared this year’s Pub of the Week. They won four weeks’ free-advertising on Chester’s Dee 106.3.

You can take part in this week’s Sunday Shuffle Quiz by ringing 01244 – 39 – 1063 after 10.00 am on Sunday.

Here’s one of this week’s questions:

Who played their last-ever live concert, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, on 29th August 1966?

So, put the kettle on, make yourself some toast and jam and settle down to a relaxing Sunday morning with Dave Phillips, every Sunday from ten till two.
