The design and development process

Roodee Web Design is one of Chester's leading website design companies, and were selected by Dee 106.3 to redesign our web site in 2007. In 2008, they delivered version 2.0 of our website, completely rebuilt from the ground up to incorporate some new features.

Roodee Web Design spent many hours with us at our studios in Chester gathering feedback from everyone who has access to update the site to talking to our listeners. The result is a streamlined user experience, that is identical in any browser.

In the time that Roodee Web Design have been our website partner, they have amassed a considerable amount of content, from audio clips to video, text and images. All of this rich content is enjoyed by our website's users.

Our new site keeps many of it's predecessors popular features, such as the Listen Live audio stream and DJ profiles, but also includes a live Traffic and Travel feature, which will be particularly useful for listeners in Chester and surrounding areas.

 

Technologies used in our website redesign

The website was drawn out in Photoshop and built in html, with ASP 2.0 Net features.

 

Video

Flash and Windows Media video content has been converted for You Tube.

 

Audio

The popular audio downloads will continue to be encoded as mp3. Streaming audio is asx.

 

Content Management

Individual pages for presenters and the news and sports departments benefit from Adobe's 'Contribute' Content Management software. The overall site and imaging is managed by Roodee Web Design.

 

Analytics

Analytical data is collected from Dee 106.3's new website.
