22-year-old defensive midfielder Luke George has become the blues 4th signing of the summer.

The former Southport captain joins fellow new recruits Ross Hannah, Tom Shaw and Johnny Hunt.

It’s thought he could end up being a replacement for want-away midfielder Kingsley James.

Luke George said that Manager Steve Burr played a big part in his decision to move to Chester: “He’s come in when the club were having a bit of a bad patch, he’s turned that around and he’s gone on this season. The main aim again for this year is to kick on again and go further than 12th.”

George also feels that aiming for the playoffs isn’t out of the question: “It’s a young squad, it’s a hungry squad. Everyone is pushing in the right direction, everyone wants to play in that football league and, of course, so do all the fans.”

The blues are hoping to complete another two signings this week as pre-season training approaches.
