Chester FC 1 – 1 Bradford Park Avenue

Chester FC went into tonight’s (17th November) game, at the Exacta Stadium, knowing that a draw with Bradford Park Avenue would be enough to take them to the top of the Blue Square North League, as Brackley, Guiseley and Halifax Town all lost their games on Saturday afternoon.

However, Bradford Park Avenue took an early lead after Danny Holland scored a score a goal after just three minutes. After such a nightmare start to the game, The Blues regrouped and went on to dominate the first half of the game but failed to equalise.

After the break, Chester FC  continued in much the same way but were unable to find that elusive goal until just two minutes before the full-time whistle when Marc Williams headed home the equaliser from close range.

So the game finished Chester FC 1 – 1 Bradford Park Avenue, taking The Blues to the top of the Blue Square North League, by virtue of a superior goal difference to Brackley.

There’s no game for Chester FC on Saturday (20th October) because their opponents, Corby Town, are involved in an FA Cup match. This game will now take place on Wednesday, 14th November at 7.45 pm at Exacta Stadium. So, next up for The Blues is the game against Histon which kicks off at 3.00 pm on Saturday 27th October. As usual, there’ll be full coverage in Dee 106.3 Sport, with David Sanderson, from two till six.
