The number of animals being abandoned in Cheshire and North Wales is reaching epidemic levels.
It’s led to calls for a neutering campaign, in an attempt to safe guard unwanted puppies and kittens.
The charity, Blue Cross, says the number of animals born at their re-homing centres has nearly doubled over the last four years.
