Lewis Price, 23, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after sneaking in to a woman's home and stealing her phone from her hand.

Price, of Greenwood Drive in Newton-Le-Willows, pleaded guilty to burglary and fraud at Chester Crown Court on Monday.

On October 7 Price sneaked into a 26 year old woman’s home and stole her mobile from her hand while she slept.

The victim contacted the police a few hours later when she noticed her phone and her bag were missing.

Price was identified as a suspect after the ‘Find my iPhone’ app was activated and was arrested on Sunday 8 October.

Detective Constable Lee Williams, of Chester CID, said: “Price is a brazen thief and had no thought for how this could have impacted on the victim”

“This was a great result for the victim who was left shaken.”
