Behind the scenes at Dee 106.3

We have two identical studios at Dee 106.3. One is on the air constantly, the other is used for recording and is used when the other is offline for maintenance.

All of the music, adverts and jingles you hear on Dee 106.3 is played off hard disc, using a system called RCS.

There are three microphones in each studio, one for the presenter, and two for guests.

Our newsreaders use one of the guest microphones, sitting directly opposite the presenter.

In this photo you can see the view our presenters have when they are on air.

The screen on the far left displays emails and text messages. The centre left monitor (and coloured keypad beneath) gives the presenter control over playout. The centre right monitor shows what is playing now and next. The far right monitor is a tv so presenters can follow major news events if needed.

The blue faders trigger the music and adverts, and control their loudness levels.

The Boardroom

This is where we throw ideas around.

Our boardroom is a very busy place, as it's here that we hold presentation meetings with all on-air personalities, sales team meetings, strategy meetings, board meetings and client meetings.
