Chester's well loved centurians
as they should be.

Legislation, passed by the government last year, dealing with Health and Safety at Work, comes into effect today. 

The new laws strengthen Health and Safety rules already in place.  They are particularly concerned with people working outdoors. 

In Chester the regulations have an effect on our Roman Soldiers who frequently can be seen helping The City's visitors relive Chester's Roman Past.

From today, as well as wearing traditional centurion armour, the soldiers will also be asked to wear high visibility jackets.
